Article III — Form of the Insignia
- The Decoration shall consist of a gilded Cross pattée, the arms of which are triangular in form and do not fully occupy the square defined by their extremities.
- Each arm shall be finished in black enamel and shall bear in gilt lettering the words of the motto divided as follows:
- Upper arm: PRO
- Left arm: DEO
- Right arm: ET
- Lower arm: PATRIA
- At the centre of the obverse shall be a circular medallion bearing the effigy of the reigning Sovereign.
- The reverse of the Cross shall be plain, save for a central circular medallion bearing the monogram of the Sovereign.
- Upon the accession of a new Sovereign, future awards shall bear the effigy and monogram of the reigning Sovereign. Decorations previously awarded shall remain unaltered.
