Article 5 — Exclusive Modes of Acquisition and Loss

1. 1.

   Kaharagian nationality may be acquired and lost only in the forms and under the conditions established by this Code, subject to the sovereign prerogative under Article 21.

2. 2.

   No private agreement, customary practice, personal declaration, or foreign recognition shall confer or terminate Kaharagian nationality.

3. 3.

   Every acquisition and every loss of nationality shall originate in a sovereign decree.
